The village of Céret

Céret is the capital of the cherry and one of the sub-prefectures of the Pyrénées-Orientales.
Take the time to stroll through the old town centre, rest in the shade of the plane trees and come to the local weekly market.

Because Céret has inspired many 20th century painters you will find there a modern art museum where you can see works by Picasso, Matisse, Miró…

The lake of Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts

 

The lake of Saint-Jean-Pla-de-Corts, situated five kilometres from the Saint Martin campsite, is a place to unwind and to do sports activities.

An adventure park with several tree climbing tracks and a splash zip line... thrills guaranteed!

Inflatable water parks.

Two cable water skis that will delight both beginner and more experienced thrill-seekers.

A leisure centre with pedal boats, paddles and kayaks for hire to discover the surrounding mountains from the lake.

Take a moment to relax

There is a green area where you can have a picnic by the lake and go swimming in the supervised area (in season) to cool off.
To finish your day, enjoy a meal on the guinguette du lac terrace.
You will fall in love with this beautiful place contemplating the reflection of the Vallespir massifs on the water.

Céret and its Museum of Modern Art attracts thousands of visitors, the city offers plenty of exhibitions and art galleries.

Perpignan

Perpignan is the prefecture of the Pyrénées-Orientales, a very authentic city with many historic monuments.
The must-see are the Castillet (old gate city), the Palace of the Kings of Majorca, the Campo Santo (14th century cloister-cemetery).

The Albères mountain range

The Albères mountain range is the natural border between France and Spain in the Pyrénées-Orientales department.
Numerous hiking trails criss-cross this massif and offer beautiful views of the French and Spanish coasts.
At the foothills of the Albères, the authentic charming villages of Laroque-des-Albères and Saint-Génis-des-Fontaines are worth a visit!

Beach side

If you're looking for a relaxing family time by the sea, the beaches along the coast are only about a thirty-minute drive from the Saint Martin campsite.
Enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches of Argelès-sur-Mer or Saint-Cyprien.
Further south, on the rocky part of the coast, go to visit Collioure , a former charming fishing village, and stroll through the narrow streets.

Spanish Catalonia

Whether you are looking for a simple family walk or you are a good hiker, the Vallespir region is the perfect place to be!
Many marked paths from where you can see the beautiful landscapes, impressive views of the Canigou massif and even some region's heritage. Some hikes start from Céret.
